4.Institute of Ultrasound Training

• The Institute of Ultrasound Training offers a post-graduate diploma in echocardiography. Students must have received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in order to enroll in the program. Course work includes basic physics, machine handling and adjustment, cardiac anatomy, scanning, heart diseases, tissue Doppler, stress echo and similar courses. Students may also take shorter, intensive certificate courses. Adult Echocardiography is a nine-day, four and half hour per day course that goes over basic anatomy, scanning and heart diseases, including tumors, cardiac anomalies and pericarditis. Fetal Echocardiography is a five-day, four hours per day course that covers normal and abnormal fetal cardiac anatomy and machine handling.

  5.Ultrasonic Thickness Testing - Level II

  
  Training Course objective

  To provide a basic knowledge of Ultrasonics to enable a participant to carryout thickness gauging tests according to an established procedure under the supervision of a level II or level III personnel. The course is especially designed to provide a sound theoretical knowledge and practical skill for carrying our Ultrasonic thickness testing required.

  Level II Responsibilities

  To carryout operation as per written procedure/instruction from Level II personnel. He shall be able to set up the equipment, calibrate and carryout the thickness tests, classify and report the results. He shall be responsible for the choice of the test technique and assessment of the test results.
